Account Settings
Manage your personal profile, password, two-factor authentication, and phone verification in Seenty.
Account Settings
Account settings control your personal profile and security preferences. These settings apply to your individual Seenty account and follow you across all organizations you belong to.
Navigate to Settings > Account to access these settings.
Profile
Update your personal information:
- Name -- Your display name shown across the platform (in comments, incident timelines, on-call schedules, and team member lists).
- Email -- The email address associated with your account. This is where login notifications and default alert emails are sent.
- Avatar -- Upload a profile photo. Avatars appear next to your name in the dashboard, incident timelines, and on-call views.
Password
To change your password:
- Go to Settings > Account > Password.
- Enter your current password.
- Enter and confirm your new password.
- Click Update Password.
If you signed up with Google authentication, you can set a password to enable email/password login as an alternative sign-in method.
Two-factor authentication (MFA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your account. Once enabled, you must enter a time-based one-time password (TOTP) from an authenticator app every time you log in.
Setting up MFA
Open security settings
Navigate to Settings > Account > Security and click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
Scan the QR code
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code displayed on screen. Compatible apps include:
- Google Authenticator (iOS, Android)
- 1Password (iOS, Android, desktop)
- Authy (iOS, Android, desktop)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS, Android)
If you cannot scan the QR code, click Enter manually to see the secret key and type it into your app.
Enter the verification code
Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Enter the current code to confirm that your app is set up correctly.
Save recovery codes
After verification, Seenty displays a set of recovery codes. These are one-time-use backup codes that let you log in if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Save your recovery codes in a secure location (password manager, printed copy in a safe place). Each code can only be used once, and they cannot be displayed again after this step. If you lose both your authenticator app and your recovery codes, you will need to contact support to regain access to your account.
MFA is active
From this point forward, every login requires both your password and a code from your authenticator app.
Disabling MFA
To disable two-factor authentication, go to Settings > Account > Security and click Disable Two-Factor Authentication. You will be asked to enter a TOTP code or recovery code to confirm your identity before MFA is removed.
Phone number verification
Adding and verifying a phone number is required before you can use SMS as a notification channel. SMS notifications are available on the Starter plan and above.
Adding your phone number
Enter your phone number
Go to Settings > Account and enter your phone number in international format (e.g., +1 555 123 4567).
Receive the verification code
Click Verify. Seenty sends a one-time verification code to your phone via SMS.
Enter the code
Type the code you received into the verification field and click Confirm.
Phone verified
Your phone number is now verified. You can use SMS as a notification channel in your personal notification rules and receive on-call alerts via text message.
Removing your phone number
To remove a verified phone number, go to Settings > Account and click Remove Phone Number. Any notification rules that use SMS will stop working until you verify a new number.
Notification preferences
Your personal notification preferences determine how you are alerted when you are the on-call responder for an incident. These are configured separately from organization-wide notification channels.
To set up your personal notification rules, see On-Call and Notification Rules.
